Football: Women's team leave for COSAFA tournament venue

Luanda - The national senior women's soccer team left, Monday, for the South African city of Port Elizabeth, where from Tuesday they will play in the COSAFA Cup.

The Angolan delegation is made up of 30 members, including 19 players.

Before boarding, coach Maninho Loid said that the group behaved well during the training sessions.

The captain of the team, Lídia Lubano, said that the team responded positively to the training, and the objective is to have a good participation.

The Welwitschias Mirabilis, denomination of the female team, will start the tournament on Nov 3 (Tuesday), at 3:30 pm, against South Africa, host and title holders.

On the 6th, at 12:30 pm, they will face the Comorian Islands counterpart, ending the first phase on the 9th with Eswatini, at 3:30 pm. The event ends on the 14th.

This will be the fourth time that Angola participates in this tournament.
