Football: Chairman of federation's outgoing board, Artur de Almeida e Silva notified by FIFA

This occurs as a result of complaints of irregularities made to the Ethics Committee of the governing body of the sport in the world, by the then competitor to the FAF elections, Norberto de Castro.

The official, whose list was declared ineligible by the Electoral Commission, attached documents proving his allegations.

Having analyzed the issue, FIFA ordered the outgoing board, led by Artur Almeida e Silva, to respond to such accusations until next Friday, under pain of interfering in the case.

Speaking to ANGOP, last Tuesday, Adão Simão, the agent of Norberto de Castro's list, confirmed that the complaints to FIFA include the fact that the list of the outgoing board includes people undergoing legal punishment.

"FIFA has a code of ethics, and, based on this code, people accused of corruption and punished, as in the cases of Artur Almeida and Bernardo Suca, cannot run for election," he reiterated.

Adão Simão said that FIFA was warned about the fact that the list of Artur de Almeida e Silva uses the image of the president of the international body, Gianni Infantino, conveying the idea that he supports him.

The former vice president of the FAF's Technical Sports Council also informed that the National Electoral Commission made a mistake when announcing the illegibility of the candidacies.

He explained that the minutes had been signed by only two of the three members of that body, which constitutes an irregularity.

Before referring to FIFA, according to Adão Simão, the gaps in the electoral process were communicated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and to the Provincial Court of Luanda, pending a response to date.

The top chair of the FAF Fernando da Trindade Jordão (list A), the outgoing Artur de Almeida e Silva (B), António Gomes “Tony Estraga” (C) and José Alberto Macaia (D) compete for the top chair.
