Angola prepares report on Sustainable Development

Luanda - Angola has since Monday a working group that will work on the development process of preparing the first voluntary national report on sustainable Development.

To this end, five groups were formed to work on specific topics, such as Economy and Production, Social Welfare, Democracy and Stability, Science, Innovation and Infrastructure, as well as Environment and Resilience. 

According to a note to which ANGOP had access, each group will work on a set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), covering the 17 goals and indicators of the United Nations Agenda 2030. 

The note states that the measure includes also technical groups representatives of the Ministerial Departments of the Angolan Government  involved in the themes of the SDGs, National Institute of Statistics, universities, private sector, civil society (NGOs), UN and development partners. 

In the meantime, the Angolan Government  undertook to present at the United Nations Economic and Social Council Forum, in New York, on 21 July 2021, the referred report on "The state of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ) in the country".
