This was during a mega campaign carried out by the local Public Health and Great Endemics Department.

Speaking to Angop Thursday, the head of the local Public Health Department, Isabel Pezo Sonhi, said the campaign marks the World Day Against AIDS (1 December), whose central event happens in this region.

She said that the campaign, running until 31 November, enabled to detect 12 positive cases of the disease.

Other data from the local Department indicate that during the third quarter of this year the health sector in the province of Moxico diagnosed 621 new cases of HIV/AIDS, less 51.

The cases were diagnosed in municipal headquarters (Moxico), with 278, followed by Luau (214), Alto Zambeze (47), Bundas (46) and Cameia (19), having caused 30 deaths (+7).
