It is a group of a total of 12 Cuban doctors of various specialties who are going to reinforce the workforce in health units in the different municipalities of Benguela.

Soon after their arrival, the delegation went through a temperature screening and registration process, then headed for the Provincial Palace, where they were received by the governor and coordinator of the Provincial Interministerial Commission to Combat Covid-19, Rui Falcão.

Speaking to the press, the provincial director of health, António Cabinda, said that starting this Wednesday, 22 doctors will be distributed so that they can secure the health system in these health units.

According to the official, these are doctors of general medicine, microbiologists and statisticians.

António Cabinda explained that, at this stage, only seven arrived in the province because the others have not yet received the results of the samples that are being analyzed by the molecular biology laboratory.

"The other five are still waiting for the results of the tests and can arrive at any time", he said.

António Cabinda expressed satisfaction with the behavior of the population with regard to compliance with social confinement measures, stressing that he is more sensitized and aware.

“Even the 22-year-old citizen who was in institutional quarantine, for violating the home quarantine, was already discharged, because her laboratory test was negative, but she will still remain in home quarantine,” he explained.

The official advised against the dissemination of false, alarmist news that cause panic in the population, requesting that only the truth be disclosed, for such posture is important to win the combat against the pandemic.
