Speaking to ANGOP, they recognised the technical capacity existing in the present structure, comparing it with those existing in similar units in Europe, which will allow more human lives to be saved.

Angolan doctor Francisco Lopes said that the structure brings greater quality to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

The opinion is corroborated by his colleague José Mendes, also Angolan, for whom the new hospital has state-of-the-art equipment, highlighting the areas of imaging and the laboratory.

The Cuban doctor, Juan Cancio Rondón, a specialist in internal medicine, said they had found a hospital built in 1945, practically during World War II in a "very impoverished state," with minimal conditions.

Now, he said, the Angolan people, especially in Bié province, are gaining a "marvel of health," as they have a first world structure.

His fellow citizen Ronald Firmino Gonzale, one of the four surgeons in Bié, where he has been working for two years, also highlighted the scale of the work, considering that there is "much evolution".

"The current conditions are very good, because there are seven operating rooms with adequate conditions", he stressed.
