Covid-19: Governor wants more rigour in sanitisation

Ondjiva - The governor of Cunene province, Gerdina Didalelwa, Friday in Ondjiva called for the strengthening of safety and hygiene measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The province of Cunene has 32 positive cases of Covid-19, of which three have already been recovered and 29 are active.

Cunene currently has seven institutional quarantine centres.

Speaking at the first provincial gala of the Rural Women's Merit Award, to mark 15 October, International Rural Women's Day, Gerdina Didalelwa stressed the need to continue washing hands with soap and water, alcohol gel, wearing a mask and respecting physical distancing.

She urged women to step up awareness actions against Covid-19 in their localities, so that families are more informed and vigilant in the fight against the invisible enemy spread around the world.

Gerdina Didalelwa praised the dedication of rural women who, even with the difficulties they face, remain firm and determined to serve in the countryside and contribute to increasing agricultural production and family management.
