The action will be materialised by the Angolan Ministry of Health in close collaboration with the company Sphera Bluoshen, with support from Deloitte Company aiming to provide eye care to patients without resources.

The foundation will identify two Angolan physicians to monitor the surgical interventions, foreseeing that they may join, in future, the special training programme of the Barraquer Ophthalmology Clinic in Barcelona, with a scholarship supported by the Foundation.

Members of the medical team will be led by doctors Rafael Barraquer and Elena Barraquer.

The Barraquer Foundation was created in 2003 to contribute to the development and universal access to ophthalmology, aiming to provide eye care to patients in countries with fewer resources and impoverished regions.

Barraquer Foundation is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide eye care to help improve the visual health of populations without access to health care.

It also offers training grants to qualified personnel in these countries, who, thanks to the skills learned may extend the work of the Foundation in their own areas of origin.

Among the objectives of the Foundation should be noted Barraquer also provided support for research, teaching and anything that might contribute to the development of ophthalmology.
