According to the administrator, the food aid is to be distributed in a phased manner to the population due to the low rains that have fallen this year in the region.
There will be little harvest in the current agricultural season and the scenario of famine is in sight, hence the need for these quantities of food to help the population, he said.
The provincial director of agriculture in Cunene, Pedro Tibério, said that the shortage of rain in the municipality of Curoca may undermine the current agricultural season 2019/2020.
Curoca has two communes, 25 villages and a population of 41,989, mainly engaged in agriculture and livestock.
