Money transfer programme covers 1,000 families in Nzeto

Mbanza Kongo - A universe of a thousand vulnerable families residing in the Municipality of Nzeto, in the northern Province of Zaire, as of the end of the current month will benefit from 8.500 kwanzas per month, within the scope of the social cash transfer programme and the reinforcement of the Angolan Executive's social protection system.

Speaking to the press, in the end of a verification visit to Nzeto on Friday, the secretary for Economic Affairs of the President of the Republic, Lopes Paulo, considered positive the work carried out by the technical team in identifying and registering families in this municipality of Zaire province.


He informed that, in the first phase of the project, five municipalities were selected at the country’s level, namely Nzeto in the province of Zaire, Ombanja (Cunene), Cambundi Katembo (Malanje), Cuito Cuanvale (Cuando Cubango) and Caculo (Huila).


Just over 1.6 families in situations of monetary poverty have been identified and registered across the country.


The Municipality of Nzeto has an estimated population of 47,824 inhabitants, distributed in four communes.
