The minister, who made this statement at the end of a visit to Angola Telecom, stressed that the company will have special monitoring by the ministry, to re-assert its place in national telecommunications.

Manuel Homem said that Angola Telecom represents a major asset of the State and for the telecommunications sector, since it supports 70 percent of national communications.

It is intended, according to the minister, that the electronic communications business be integrated in the Angola Telecom network.

The government official asked for attention to the company's human resources, empowering them to be able to respond to the demands of the ongoing digital transformations.

He said that the ministry is doing everything to ensure that the transformation process of Angola Telecom takes place with stability and that it results in improvements for employees, revenues and quality of service.

Manuel Homem considered that the telecommunications sector represents the lever for the country's development.

The minister was accompanied by the secretary of State for Information Technologies, Mário Oliveira, and secretary of State for Mass Media, Nuno Carnaval.
