The construction of that road, nine metres wide, began in August 2017, but due to technical and financial constraints was only concluded Thursday.

The value of the contract, which was in charge of the Portuguese company Conduril, is five billion kwanzas.

At least 142 workers, mostly local residents, ensured the construction of the road, which is duly marked vertically and horizontally.

The inauguration was the responsibility of Manuel Tavares de Almeida, the Minister for Construction and Terriory Planning, who praised the achievement.

"The goal now is to conclude the EN100 and find a financial framework for construction of the Sumbe ring road," he said.

The road will make it easier to flow the agricultural products.
