The politician died in Luanda, victim of illness, at the age of 40, after being evacuated in an emergence from Uíge province.

Since the Angolan government confirmed the occurrence, several messages of regret have reached the ANGOP newsroom, exalting Luther Rescova's professional qualities.

By the way, the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers joined the voices deeply regretting Luther Rescova's physical passing away, considering that he still had much to give for Angola.

Expressing "enormous" pain for the unfortunate event, the Ministry of Health said that Sergio Luther Rescova will always be remembered as a fighter committed to the social cause of Angolans and a young man who expressed his ideas with fervor, clarity, without any fear and in a direct and unmistakable way belonging to an emerging generation that surely would be very useful at this time and in the future of the country.

For the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the death of Sergio Luther Rescova was "a huge surprise", addressing the bereaved family and the Provincial Government of Uige with the deepest feelings of grief.

The Minister of Transport, Ricardo Viegas D'Abreu, said that the death of the governor of Uige requires reflection on his political life and exemplary public servant.

The same sentiment is expressed by the Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Filomena Delgado.

In her message, the diplomat stresses that the country has just lost a dynamic, promising young man and an exponent of a generation of politicians who had much to give to the country and continue to inspire confidence and faith in their youth.

"At the age of 40, he leaves a huge void in the structure of governance where he has known with dedication, commitment and sacrifice how to perform the various functions and challenges entrusted to him", the message reads.

For his part, the governor of Lunda Norte, Ernesto Muangala, emphasizes the political, civic and professional qualities highlighted by the governor of Uige, Sergio Luther Rescova.

The governor stressed that Sergio Rescova led a life engaged in his Angolan homeland and should always be recognised for his achievements, because he knew how to remain faithful to his principles and contribute his intelligence to the country's development.

His political career, he said, especially in favour of youth, is immeasurable and should be a great example of personality and professionalism for the new generation.
